What Customers Say About Makita BMR100W 18-Volt FM/AM Job Site Radio:

I would have give 5 stars but when you use the lithium batteries to power the radio you can't use the aux port in the sealed compartment. Sound quality is good for a jobsite radio (don't expect home stereo quality). The Makita Jobsite radio is top quality just like I have come to expect from Makita. I may try a cable with a 90 deg end on that to see if it fixes the problem. Very portable with battery power and all controls are easy to use. The sealed I-pod area is a plus. I would recommend this product and Makita tools to anyone who is a serious tool user. Never had problems with any of my Makita tools and as a contractor I abuse them every day.

It's the perfect jobsite radio, no extension cord required, will run for 8-10 hours on a fully charged battery, Souds great, and the price was right.Love this radio.

The Rigid.didnt like the design. We took the Makita to the Drive-In, which was the main purpose for this purchase. and the Bosch was like 22lbs.We had to buy a charger since I didnt any recent Makita. The DeWalt I was seriously going to get but I read a few reviews where they mentioned the Charger within it was causing the batteries to heat up excessively. It was the heaviest compared to any of the other models, but it did have an internal charger. I research so much and it was hard to decide. The Makita radio allows you to use the POD or slide type batteries. I believe the Makita and DeWalt is about the same weight.around 12 lbs. I really like the Makita was not too bulky and the dimension of the unit was not so big that it too much space.

We bought the slide-type, 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Battery. We were worried the reception was going to be bad when we tuned to one of the Drive-In s audio channels, 88.1 or 88.5. I decide not to go with Bosch because it was so heavy and bulky. The charger was excellent in charging quickly. It passed with flying colors. It worked well and we had a great reception.it was loud. Yes, people almost all jobsite/worksite radios you need to buy a battery unless you already own a battery that fits in the radio. Hope this helps.

sounds good at lower volume, but distorts once you start trying to compete with a dust collector or other noises. Running off 2 types of batteries is nice, and the mp3 port is good, I just don't need 2.

I bought this so I could play my MP3s on the jobsite. It has decent sound and seems to be durable.
